Demand Responsive Transport: An Institutional Innovation

Para transit is a mobility service combining some advantages of individual (adaptable timetables and routes) and public transports (lower individual and collective costs). Its main interest is to be adapted to the new mobility behaviour of city dwellers. Nevertheless, the numerous experiments currently carried out in French agglomerations are not very satisfying. Through the study of three systems of para transit, this article tries to spot the institutional innovations at stake and suggests some reflections that would allow this type of service to develop.
